Common Questions and Facts on Afromosia

Afromosia (African Teak) Lumber

Afromosia is a golden-brown African hardwood with fine, straight grain. It looks and performs much like teak: hard, stable and naturally resistant to decay, so it suits both fine indoor furniture and pieces that face moisture.

What to Make With Afromosia

Use it for cabinet doors, furniture faces, panelling, inlays and accents, and outdoor or marine projects. A clear hardwax oil brings out its warm golden tone.

Choosing Your Boards

Pick S2S boards if you plan to joint and rip the edges yourself, or S4S boards to build straight from the pack. Colour deepens with light exposure, and natural colour varies between boards. Browse more exotic hardwoods.
