Yellowheart — also known as Pau Amarello — is one of the most visually striking exotic hardwoods available, instantly recognized by its vibrant golden-yellow colour and smooth, fine-grain texture. Native to Brazil, this South American exotic is prized for its exceptional density, durability, and outstanding working properties that make it a genuine pleasure to machine, finish, and display. With a Janka hardness rating of 1,790 lbf, Yellowheart is tough enough to withstand serious wear while maintaining its striking colour.
This 8/4 stock is surfaced 2 sides (S2S) and machines cleanly, glues easily, and polishes to a lustrous finish with minimal effort. A quality clear coat or hardwax oil is all it takes to let Yellowheart's natural luster shine through — protecting the colour and bringing out the full depth of its golden tone. For best colour retention, a UV-inhibiting finish is recommended for pieces exposed to direct light.
