8/4 African Padauk Lumber – 5-Pack | Kiln-Dried Exotic Hardwood | S2S
African Padauk is one of the most visually striking exotic hardwoods available, 8/4 padauk is a solid, substantial, brilliant orange-red showstopper. Freshly machined surfaces glow with an intensity that few other species can match, and as Padauk ages and is exposed to light, that vivid orange deepens into rich reds and warm browns that only add to its character. With a Janka hardness rating of ~1,725 lbf, it combines exceptional hardness with natural decay and insect resistance making it one of the best value exotic hardwoods available. With 8/4 Padauk, you have the depth to build bold, substantial pieces where it's colour and density can both be fully appreciated.
This 8/4 stock is surfaced 2 sides (S2S) to 1-7/8" and machines cleanly, glues well, and holds crisp edges with sharp tooling. A UV-inhibiting finish is recommended for pieces in direct light to slow the colour transition and preserve the vivid orange tone for longer.
