Afromosia — otherwise known as African Teak — is one of the most luxurious yet durable exotic hardwoods available. Its golden-brown tones deepen with age, and its straight, fine grain gives every board a refined, consistent look. With a Janka hardness rating of ~1,560 lbf, Afromosia performs in the same bracket as Hard Maple while offering considerably more visual warmth. This is the kind of wood that turns a cabinet door or wall panel into a statement piece.
This 4/4 stock is surfaced to 7/8" and is highly cooperative to work with. It cuts without tear-out, sands cleanly, and takes both oil and film finishes with minimal fuss. Its natural resistance to decay also makes it an excellent choice for pieces built to last.
