"I was kind of skeptical about whether the wood would look as good as it did on the website. When I opened the box I was more than pleasantly surprised. Not only was the wood as advertised, it is something that I would have paid considerably more for at my local wood store."
"The delivery time from Ontario to Nova Scotia was faster than any Amazon product."
"There was a small issue with my order and they took care of it in minutes. Literally minutes. This was my first purchase and I will definitely be a repeat customer."
"This was the third time I ordered from here and every time the product has been great, every phone call answered was great help and very quick delivery."
"Unlike Home Depot or Lowe's, these boards were straight as, you guessed it, a board!"
8/4 Purpleheart Lumber β 5-Pack | Kiln-Dried Exotic Hardwood | S2S
Purpleheart is one of the most dramatic and sought-after exotic hardwoods in the world and at 8/4 thickness, its density and colour make it a genuinely exceptional building material. Native to Central and South America, it reveals a muted brown when freshly cut that transforms into a rich, vivid violet as it's exposed to light, deepening further into dark eggplant tones over time. With a Janka hardness rating of ~2,520 lbf, Purpleheart is one of the harder exotic hardwoods available. It is exceptionally dense, naturally resistant to rot and insects, and built to outlast virtually anything you put it next to. With 8/4 Purpleheart, you have the depth to build bold, substantial pieces where the colour and toughness are both working at full capacity.
This 8/4 stock is surfaced 2 sides (S2S) to 1-7/8" and machines cleanly with sharp tooling, glues reliably, and finishes to a glassy surface. Keep blades fresh and avoid heat buildup to prevent resin from gumming tool surfaces. The extra care is well worth the result.
